"I have always been attracted to large narrative paintings

because of their sheer size against the human scale.

Dimensions so big, you feel you can walk into them.

The theme could be a stage setting waiting for the drama to

begin, or a drama enacted by the characters on the canvas.

'My Life in 14 Pictures' was not an intellectual choice- it grew

out of the act of painting. As the narrative thread evolved,

the paintings became a conscious theme.  My one rule: each

must stand on its own artistic merit. The observer of a single

painting experiences a consummate work of art."
